Now, here’s the list:
1. Use social media
Social media is one of the most powerful tools at your disposal. It’s free to use and easy to begin. The hard part, however, is maintaining it. Designating one person, a team, or a hired agency can help keep content on track. Create a social media strategy, fill in a content calendar, and begin posting!
2. Add emails to your list
Email marketing can bring in a whopping 3,800% on investment when leveraged correctly. For every dollar you spend on emails to your audience, you can get up to $38 in return. That’s a really good ROI! Consistency and good content are key in this arena.

3. Give away a small sample
This recommendation can take some time, but it packs a punch for those who receive it. The idea is to make a unique product – such as a logo, website mock-up, or social media content – and share it with a business…for free. Then, share your creation publicly. This not only gives a local business something to use for free, but it also shows your skill as an agency.

4. Become a thought leader by writing articles
Articles (blogs) on a website are one of the best (and easiest) ways to show your thought leadership in your industry. It’s a platform you control. Beyond that, you’re able to share the link to your social media channels and through email campaigns. Regularly post new and intriguing content in your area of business, and you’re sure to gain a following. Don’t forget to track your Google Analytics.

5. Join the Chamber of Commerce
A local Chamber of Commerce is a great way to get noticed easily in the community. Membership shows you’re serious about what you do. You’d join a long list of other local companies, some of which could use your services. (This is a great place to pitch business!)
6. Set up your Google My Business listing
Google My Business is a free and easy option for agencies that have a brick-and-mortar location. Request to have your business verified through the Google My Business webpage. After confirming, people will be able to visit your website, call you, and find directions to your location. You’ll also be able to see stats of who is viewing your business. This may be the best option for getting your brand noticed locally because of Google’s powerful location tools.
7. Give back to a local nonprofit
This philanthropic option is great for the firm that wants to make a difference in the community. If you have the funds, offer to financially support a local nonprofit and throw a party while doing it. If your funds are tight, however, offer a day for your employees to volunteer with a specific nonprofit and post on social media while doing it.
8. Advertise
This option is probably the most effective on this list for getting your brand noticed locally, but it can also cost the most. You could spend $100 for a Facebook ad, or $10,000+ for a TV commercial. Knowing your audience is key for this option to be effective.
9. Network locally
Get out of the office and meet new people in the community. There are a plethora of people in your local community who could use your agency services – you just need to meet them. If the person you met doesn’t need to hire you at the moment, they may know of someone who does.

10. Have a face for the company
Select someone to be the face of your agency. This could be your CEO or president. Whoever it is, produce content that has this person speaking or in images. This personifies your firm and gives it character.
11. Be added to a local directory
Similar to the Chamber of Commerce, this is an easy way for your business to get noticed. A local directory serves as free marketing for your firm. Also to not to mention, it helps with SEO because of backlinks.
